JavaScript Job: Junior Web Developer

Moby is an independent fibre optic triple play telecommunications company that provides Internet | TV | Phone and related fibre optic services in major Alberta urban centres. We design, deploy and manage our own fibre optic infrastructure and are not a reseller of the incumbent carriers.

We are an entrepreneurial company seeking an individual who loves developing new technologies in a collaborative environment.

The Role:

As a Junior Developer, you’ll be involved in a new technology platform that will result in the democratization of fibre optic telecommunications. Consider yourself part of a skunkworks group that has the financial support of our investors, provincial and federal government agencies. While working on this project, you will also assist in coding middleware software to automate communications across multiple platforms to support existing and future operations.

Under the guidance of our Full Stack Developer, your efforts will be focused on:

· Developing and maintaining front end website architecture

· Developing and maintaining customer-facing and internal forms

· Developing and maintaining SEO specific content

· Maintaining cloud servers and databases for functionality

· Ensuring cross-platform optimization for mobile phones

· Ensuring responsiveness of web applications

· Working alongside graphic designers for web design features

· Conducting weekly cross-platform testing

· Seeing through a project from conception to finished product

Skills and Attributes:

· Proficiency with Wordpress Web Development. Experience with elementor is helpful.

· Proficiency with fundamental front end languages such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript

· Experience working with live customer-facing technologies

· Experience with the fundamentals of graphic design

· Experience with the fundamentals of search engine optimization

· Knowledge of wireless networking technologies

· Knowledge of IT fundamentals

· Solution oriented with good problem-solving skills

· Attention to detail

Experience:

· Graduated post secondary in a Computer Science discipline

· Up to 2 years of work experience in the software development field

· HTML, JavaScript, PHP, CSS, WordPress, Webhooks, REST API

· Salesforce and SEO experience an asset

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $46,000.00-$52,000.00 per year
